Prairie City – Fern Gulling Wicker, 92, a lifelong resident of the Prairie City and Vandalia areas, died Saturday, March 26, at Clearview Manor in Prairie City.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City.
The Rev. James Lesher of Des Moines will conduct services. Burial will be in Vandalia Cemetery.
Friends may call after noon today at the funeral home and family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Wicker is survived by two daughters, Darlene (Mrs. Harold) Ellison of Unionville, and Ines (Mrs. Maynard) Tomboe of West Des Moines; a son, Melvin of Prairie City; six grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are two brothers, Harlan and Roy Gulling, both of Runnells.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Murray Neil, in 1932, two sisters and two brothers.
The daughter of Pete and Emma Trader Gulling, she was born Jan. 29, 1896 in Vandalia.
She was married to Murry Neil Wicker June 29, 1925.
