Arthur Wallace Rites Are Set
Services for Arthur Wallace, 85, retired Runnells blacksmith, who died Tuesday at his home in Runnells, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Richardson Funeral Home in Carlisle. Burial will be in Vandalia Cemetery.
Mr. Wallace operated a blacksmith shop in Runnells 20 years before retiring two years ago. He previously farmed 20 years near Colfax. He was a native of Vandalia.
Surviving are his widow, four daughters, Mrs. Walter Mott of Runnells, Mrs. Everett Tingle of Ava, Mo., Mrs. Roy Gulling of Prairie City and Mrs. Maynard Bankes of Colfax; five sons, John of Runnells, William and Russell of Colfax, Francis of Newton and Robert of Fort Madison; a sister, Mrs. Anna Waltz of Colfax; 27 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
