Walter A. Young, son of Lewis and Barbara Young, was born in Highland county, Ohio, on July 16, 1861 and died in Pennsylvania at the age of 68 years. He moved with his parents and nine older brothers and sisters to Jasper county, Iowa when a boy and settled on a farm five miles south of Prairie City, where he spent several years with his parents.

Mrs. Young died when Cecil was still an infant and a few years later Mr. Young was again married to Miss Anna Livingood. One daughter, Marie, was born to them and she is now employed in the college which she attends in Elizabethtown, Penna.
Several years ago the family moved from Iowa to Ottawa, Kans., and from there to Sebring, Fla., where Mrs. Young died about two years ago. Less than a year ago he was married to Mrs. Sarah Weaver of Sebring, Fla., and survives him.
During the month of June they had traveled by auto to Kansas and Iowa where they visited relatives and friends. They went later to Elizabethtown, Penna., where they attended the annual conference of the Church of the Brethren and where Mr. Young died at the home of his daughter. He had been in poor health for the past two or three years but his condition had not been considered serious except for brief illnesses.
The body was brought to Newton on Tuesday, July 7, and was taken later to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Carl Elrod, where short services were held on July 8 at the home and later at the Church of the Brethren. Burial was in the Vandalia cemetery.
