Prairie City – Kathryn Van Maanen, 95, of Prairie City died Thursday, May 4, 2006, at Hospice of Jasper County Monarch Wing at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.
A private family ceremony will be at a later date. Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City handled the arrangements.
Memorials may be given to Hospice of Jasper County, and online condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.
The daughter of Rollie and Lena (Anderson) White, she was born April 9, 1911, in Prairie City. On Aug. 15, 1936, she married William Van Maanen at Prairie City. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill Church of Christ.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Dorothy Van Maanen of Prairie City; her son-in-law Larry Harrison; one brother, William White of Kellogg; two grandsons; and five great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; her daughter, Donna Harrison; and three sisters, Opal Deere, Audrey White and Marie Brayton.
