Grace E. Blood, 76, of 818 E. 29th St., Des Moines, died of cancer January 22 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. Services were held at Hamilton’s Funeral Home with burial in Vandalia Cemetery.
Mrs. Blood was born in Runnells and moved to Des Moines in 1933. She retired after 16 years with Northwestern Bell Telephone.
Survivors include her husband, Melvin; a daughter, Karen Waters of Marietta, Ga.; four stepdaughters, Louise Beattie of Runnells, Mary Lou Gilson of Newton, and Velda Kinney and Melva Rose, both of Altoona; a son, Ronald Anderson, and a brother, Garrison Lamb, both of Des Moines; a sister, Minnie Ogburn of Colfax; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Vandalia Cemetery Association.
