Thomas Michael Clark, 73, of Rockport, Texas, passed away at home Thursday, Sept. 23, 2021, after a long illness.
Mike was born Aug. 3, 1948, to George and Kathryn Clark in Newton. After graduating from Newton High School in 1966, he was called to duty in the 101st Airborne, United States Army. After he was honorably discharged, he returned to Newton and was employed by the Maytag Company, rising to supervisor. Mike retired from the Maytag Company after a 30-year career.
He married Ruby Irene Anderson in 1983. Their blended family included Derric, Christopher, Ryan, Melanie Clark and Anita, Lynn, Roy Christopher and Patti Cole.
After retiring Mike and Ruby moved to Rockport, Texas. They spent their time fishing, mushrooming and gardening. Mike also spent his time volunteering at the Veterans Troop Support helping other veterans in need.
Mike is predeceased by his parents; and sons, Roy Christopher Cole and Thomas Ryan Clark. He is survived by his wife, Ruby; his sisters, Cassandra McGinley and Barbara Oswalt; daughter-in-law, Tracey Clark; his children, Derrick Clark (Jennifer), Christopher Clark (Arlene), Melanie Clark, Anita Coryell (Frank), Lynne Golinvaux and Patti Gardner; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
