July 8, 1932 - October 18, 2021

Tommy Jay Cochran of Rolla, Missouri passed away on Monday, October 18, 2021, at the Phelps Health Hospital in Rolla, Missouri at the age of 89. Tommy was born in Newton, Iowa on July 8, 1932, to the late Otis and Zella (Jeffers) Cochran.
Tommy proudly served his Country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Saladan in 1951. This union was blessed with a son, Gary. Sadly, Dorothy passed away in March of 2008. He later married Edie Cochran, who survives him.

He was a member of the Word Life Celebration Church of Rolla, Missouri. For Tommy, going to church and serving the Lord were a top priority. He enjoyed playing computer games, and until his health no longer permitted, he played the mandolin in church, and a little gospel group that he enjoyed.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Edie Cochran, of the home; son, Gary Cochran and wife Lisa, of St. James, MO; stepdaughter Deanna Brown, of Cape Girardeau, MO; granddaughter, Lori Woods, and husband Scotty; and his beloved fur babies, Biscuit, and Bear.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend and will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Cochran.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 22, 2021 at 1:00 PM at the Rolla Chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary with Pastor Russell Summers, and Doyle Wools officiating, they along with Rick Morris will also be providing the music selections.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at the Chapel on Friday prior to the service from 11 AM until service time. Internment with Military Honors will be at the Miles Cemetery in St. James, Missouri. Memorials are suggested and greatly appreciated to the Cochran family. Cards are available at all James & Gahr locations.
