Louis M. Archer Of Mingo Dies; Services Tuesday
Mingo – Louis Milton Archer, 72, of Mingo, a longtime Mingo area farmer, died recently at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax.
The Rev. Lester Hesseltine, pastor of the Mingo United Methodist Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in thee Vandalia Cemetery.
Memorial contributions to a fund set up in Mr. Archer’s name will be accepted.
Survivors are his wife, Grace; two sons, James of Des Moines and Evan of Mingo; four sisters, Mrs. Ted (Betty) Lint of Van Meter, Mrs. Michael (Lois) Martin of Norwalk, Dorothy Jane Arnold of Des Moines and Mrs. Bill (Carolyn) Good of Mingo; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Lee.
Mr. Archer was a member of the United Methodist Church.
The son of James and Alice Engle Archer, he was born Feb. 21, 1906 at Osceola.
He was married to Grace Routson Feb. 13, 1931 in Des Moines.
