Asa A. Galloway Dies in Hospital; Services Friday

Asa A. Galloway, 71, of 1409 W. Fourth St. N., a longtime resident of Newton, died today in Skiff Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in Toland Funeral Home.

The Rev. Ray Barnett, minister at First Christian Church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in Palo Alto Cemetery.

Friends may call after 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home.

Survivors are are his wife, Pearl; a son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Betty, of Newton; and two step-daughters, Mrs. Gale (Dorothy) Morelock of Tampa Fla., and Mrs. Sam (Lois) Warrick of Rt. 2, Newton.

Also surviving are two step-grandaughters; a step-grandson; a step-great-grandson; a brother, Harold Galloway of Newton and a sister, Mrs. Ralph (Grace) Raber of Kellogg.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Pearl Barton Galloway and a borher, Oscar.

Mr. Galloway, a retired Maytag Company employe, was a member of the Maytag 25-year Club.

The son of Frank A. and Mary Baty Galloway, he was born May 2, 1906, in Knoxville.

He was married to Pearl Hummel Sept 8, 1958, in Marshalltown.
