Eileen H. Erskin, 70, of 2301 E. Ninth St. died Tuesday of peritonitis following surgery at Des Moines General Hospital.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, with burial in Vandalia Cemetery.
Born in Guthrie County, Mrs. Erskin lived in Des Moines most of her life. She was a member of West Madison Church of Christ and was a retired social worker for Polk County.
Survivors include a daughter, Twila Shaffer of Des Moines; four step-daughters, Pauline Quinn and Shirley Lane, both of Des Moines, Betty Vanderpool of Mitchellville and Lois Kittleson of Mantorville, Minn., a sister, Bethene Myers of Audubon; two brothers, Boyd Huston of Bagley and Theron Huston living in Illinois; 20 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
