Lucille H. Reinheimer, 83, of Newton, died of congestive heart failure, Wednesday, Nov. 12, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Reese funeral Home with the Rev. Steven Goad, pastor of the First Christian church in Newton, officiating. Burial will be at Newton Union Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Reese Funeral Home after noon Friday where the family will be present from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday evening.
Memorials to the Jasper County Genealogical Society, Jasper County Loan Closet or Careage of Newton Activity Fund will be accepted.
The daughter of the Rev. Levi J. and Arah Lee Harris, she was born March 12, 1914, in Macon, Mo. She graduated from Lee Summit High School in Missouri in 1932.
She married Dr. Claude C. Reinheimer Jan. 1, 1944, in Colorado Springs, Colo.
A resident of Newton since 1946, she previously lived in Missouri and Hutchinson, Kansas. She worked as a homemaker.
Mrs. Reinheimer was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hutchinson, Kansas. She was an active member of two Newton nursing home care review committees for several years. In 1987 she received a Governor’s Volunteer Award for her work at the local and state levels. She was a volunteer librarian for both the Jasper County and Iowa genealogical Societies for several years.
She is survived by her daughter, Rita Reinheimer of Newton.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son; two brothers, and four sisters.
