H. Hindman Dies at 68
Colfax, IA – (Special to The Daily News) – Funeral services for Harvey Hindman, 68, former Jasper county farmer who died at Earlham, Ia., Friday will be held at the Colfax Christian church Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock with the Rev. Hahn of DeSoto and the Rev. A. A. Burr of Colfax in charge.
Local services will follow rites at DeSoto, Ia. Burial will be in the McKeever cemetery near here.
Mr. Hindman is survived by his wife, the former Mrs. Len Hogendorn of Colfax, and nine children. Two wives, mother of the surviving children, and two children preceded him in death.

Funeral Services for H. Hindman Held on Sunday
Death Caused From Stroke; Was Former Resident of Community
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon for Marion Harvey Hindman, 68, at the Fairview church near Earlham with short services at the Christian church in Colfax, with Rev. Hahn of Fairview officiating, assisted by Rev. A. A. Burr of Colfax.
Mr. Hindman spent a portion of his early life in this community and had visited relatives here on numerous occasions, but has recently been living on a farm near Earlham.
He died at the Methodist hospital in Des Moines, June 12, following a stroke. He had not been sick previous to this time, and had worked in the field the day before the attack.
Besides his wife, Mrs. Bessie Hogendorn Hindman, he is survived by three children from his first marriage, Mrs. Hazel Baker of Mason City, Glen Hindman, Macksburg, Ia., and Merle Hindman of Lindwood, Calif.
May 12, 1915 he was united in marriage to Myrtle Hodgson and to this union six children were born, Albert, Lorena, Arlene, Leland, Raymond and Harvey at home. The wife and mother preceded him in death.
August 7, 1940, he was united in marriage to Mrs. Bessie Hogendorn of Colfax, who with the children, one brother, Stanley Hindman of Winterset and other relatives remain to mourn his passing.
Burial was in the McKeever cemetery.
