Wednesday evening, the three-year-old child of Mr. M. Gregg, a workman at the mines of the Jasper County Coal Company who lives at the old shaft, in playing about on the floor at home attempted to swallow a button which stuck in its throat and in spite of every effort of the frenzied mother and neighbors who flocked to her assistance, the little one choked to death before surgical aid could be secured.
