Clear Creek (Special to The Daily News) – Robert Miller, son of Robert and Rebecca (Kintz) Miller, was born in Clear Creek township, Jasper county, Iowa, and died at the county home Jan. 20, 1935, from a cerebral hemorrhage. He was 73 years and 7 months old at the time of his death.
His mother came here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kintz, from Ohio and were the first white settlers in Clear Creek township.
Mr. Miller, a farmer, was interested in threshing machines, clover hullers, and various other kinds of machinery.
He had spent his entire life in this township, with the exception of the last few months at the home. He never married and was the last surviving member of a family of six children.
Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. B. W. Northup at the Boyd funeral home in Baxter Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 23. Mrs. Scott Schroyer and Mrs. Harry Ennis furnished the music.
Interment was in the Kintz cemetery, with the following nephews serving as pallbearers: Andrew Miller, Guy Hardenberg, Charles Sumpter, Perry Sumpter, George Swallwell, and James Swallwell.
