Life Story of Mrs. Frank Ford
Etha Pearl Brown Ford, daughter of Sherman and Mary Brown, was born in Jasper county near Monroe, Iowa, October 7, 1895, and passed away at the hospital in Newton, Saturday, Aug. 20, 1955, at the age of 59 years, 10 months and 13 days.
On February 10, 1915, she was united in marriage to Frank D. Ford. To this union one daughter, Marie Mildred, was born, November 20, 1921, and passed away December 6, 1921, at the age of 16 days.
She is survived by her husband and two brothers, McKinley of Prairie City and Perry of Knoxville; also nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles. Her father and mother and one brother, Doyal, preceded her in death.
She united with the Pleasant Hill Methodist church in early girlhood. Since living in Newton she attended the Seventh-Day Adventist church.
Most of her life was spent in the vicinity of Monroe until 1936 when they moved near Newton and have lived near and in Newton since.
She has been held in high esteem by a large number of her friends and neighbors, and the family is not alone in the sorrow of this hour. Let us yield to the presence of the Higher Power and say “Thy will, O God, be done”.
Funeral services were held August 20 at Johnson Funeral Home in Newton, Pastor William Neptune officiating. Interment was at Griffis cemetery.
