Services Held For Mildred E. Ward
Funeral services for Mildred Elizabeth Butler Ward, 79, a longtime resident of Colfax, were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at the Howard Street Christian Church in Colfax.
The Rev. John McKinstry, pastor of the church, conducted services. Burial was in the Colfax Cemetery.
Organist was Eleanor Howell.
Casket bearers were Eben Van Dusseldorp, Dale Ogburn, Orvil Williams, Bill Bell, Alan Wheeler, and Charles Wilson.
Honorary bearers were Mel Van Dusseldorp, Wilber Robson, R. F. Susic, Robert Patterson, Don Jewell and Dick Stockton.
Memorials to the Colfax Senior Citizens may be left at the funeral home.
She died Tuesday at Clearview Manor in Prairie City.
Survivors are a son, Jack of Colfax; and a grandson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and two brothers, Harvey Butler and Charles Butler.
Mrs. Ward, a member of the Howard Street Christian Church, had been employed 35 years at Easter Brothers and Stockton’s in Colfax.
The daughter of Charles and Lyda Rounds Butler, she was born Nov. 10, 1911 in Oakland.
She was married to Edward Ward Sept. 3, 1927 in Colfax.
