Nashelle Ann Suzette (Haggerty) Ashton, 50, died on Saturday, August 7, 2021, at the University of Iowa Hospital. No services are scheduled at this time.

Nashelle, the daughter of June “B.J.” and Nash Haggerty was born on February 13, 1971, in Dallas, Texas. She lived in north central Texas much of her life but has been in Newton, Iowa, for around 10 years. Nashelle received her GED and went on to graduate from phlebotomy school. After receiving her degree, Nashelle worked in the lab at MercyOne Newton. In addition to her skill at work, Nashelle’s family will miss her analytical nature and dry sense of humor.

Nashelle is survived by her daughters Rhian Asher of Granbury, Texas, and Ashley Tetreault of Vermont; siblings, Suzee Dinwiddie of Newton, Michael Haggerty of Dallas, Texas, and Angela of Dallas, Texas; partner Eric Abolins of Newton; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
