Funeral Services Held For L. D. Ogburn Wednesday
Physicians Found That Man’s Heart Was on Right Side of Body – Buried West of Monroe
Funeral services were held yesterday for Lorenzo Dow Ogburn who died Monday at the home of his daughter Mrs. G. A. Fairly, 1006 36th street, Des Moines.
Interment was made in the Griffis cemetery west of Monroe. Services were conducted by Rev. Carlson, of Monroe.
Deceased was born July 16, 1837, in Indiana and moved to Iowa with his parents, settling in Marion county and died at the age of 93 years, 9 months and 11 days. For a number of years, Mr. Ogburn lived in the east part of Monroe, but for the past five years has been making his home with his daughter in Des Moines.
He was united in marriage to Miss Sarah Ann Carter, December 1, 1863. To this union five children were born. Four of whom survive, T. S. Ogburn, Delavan, Minn.; C. W. Ogburn, Winnebago, Minn.; G. C. Ogburn, Des Moines and Laura B. Fairly, Des Moines. Mrs. Ogburn died January 28, 1930.
Shortly before his death, a physician discovered that his heart was on the right side of his body.
