Val Brunner, 88, Dies at Home
Prairie City (Special) – Val Brunner, 88, a longtime resident of Prairie City, died Sunday morning at his home here.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Travis Walters funeral home in Prairie City.
The Rev. Robert Anderson of Vandalia will conduct the services. Burial will be in Vandalia cemetery.
Mr. Brunner is survived by his wife, a son Cecil of Prairie City; a granddaughter, Mrs. Robert (Donna) Russell of Mitchellville and a great-grandson, and a sister, Mrs. Frank Price of Des Moines.
Mr. Brunner was born January 4, 1871 on a farm east of Prairie City.
He was married to Grace Anderson, February 6, 1901 and they moved to Prairie City in 1902.
Mr. Brunner was a coal miner.
