W. W. Mead, Of Ira Died Friday In Newton Hospital
Funeral Services Were Held Sunday At Newton With Interment At Union Chapel
William W. Mead, 89, pioneer resident and harness maker, of Ira, died Friday morning at the Skiff Memorial hospital in Newton, following an illness of several months.
Mr. Mead was born in Floyd county, but had been a resident of Jasper county most of his life, the family making their home at Ira. Mrs. Mead preceded him in death about 6 years ago. He was a harness maker by trade.
He is survived by an adopted son, Lawrence Mead of Colfax and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon from the Murdoch Funeral home in Newton with Dr. E. P. Gabriel officiating.
Interment was in Union Chapel cemetery near Ira.
