Mrs. Walter Beals Colfax Resident; Dies on Tuesday
Colfax (Special) – Mrs. Walter Beals, 58, a resident of the Colfax community the majority of her life, died at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Iowa Lutheran hospital in Des Moines.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Colfax Christian church. Burial will be in Union Chapel cemetery near Mingo.
Mrs. Beals is survived by her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Walter Pickett, Des Moines; a son, Robert Beals of Colfax; her mother, Mrs. Emma Pink of Rt. 2, Newton; a sister, Mrs. Grace Gribbon of Newton and two grandchildren.
The daughter of Peter and Emma Pink, Cecile M. Beals was born May 9, 1897 in Newton. She was educated in Newton schools and was married to Walter Beals Oct. 20, 1915 in Newton.

Colfax Services For Mrs. Beals
Colfax (Special) – Funeral services for Mrs. Walter Beals, 57, of Colfax were held today at the Colfax Christian church.
Burial was at Union Chapel cemetery near Mingo.
Pallbearers were Worth Hiatt, Arthur Watt, John Bales, Durland Lester, Ralph Gardner and Howard Williams.
In charge of flowers were Mrs. Ralph Gardner, Mrs. Alan Herbold and Mrs. Joe Stayner.
Gomer Williams, the soloist, was accompanied on the organ by Mrs. George Rinker.
