Mrs. Harley Wood Died Thursday, Mar. 20
Mrs. Harley (Bonnie) Wood, 45, a resident of this city most of her life, died at the Skiff Memorial Hospital in Newton at 8:06 p.m. Thursday, March 20th. Death was attributed to a heart condition. Mrs. Wood had entered the hospital about 3:55 that afternoon.
Mrs. Wood was the daughter of Bruce and Aletha Annis, and was born Oct. 31, 1912 in this city and received her education in the local school system. On August 15, 1931, she was united in marriage to Harley Wood and to this union five sons were born, all of whom survive. They are Harley Jr., Richard, Gary, Bruce and James. Also left to mourn her passing are her parents, Mrs. Aletha Annis of Los Angeles, Calif., Bruce Annis of Colfax, a bother, Bruce, Jr., of Lakewood, Calif., and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Wood showed an intense interest in her family, and devoted her life to the rearing of her five sons, and making a home for the family.
Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon from the Bumgardner funeral Home at 2:00 with Rev. J. W. McEleney, pastor of the Immaculate Conception Catholic church officiating.
Bearers were Frank Annis, Herbert Annis, Morris Annis, Roger Ruggless, Ben Ruggless and Don Annis.
Flower committee – Mrs. William Much and Mrs. Lester Barker.
Burial was in the Colfax Cemetery.
