Mrs. Wm. S. Jones passed away suddenly Thursday morning at her home in this city from apoplexy. Mrs. Jones arose about six o’clock Thursday morning and at eight o’clock life had passed out. She had not been sick and her sudden passing was a shock to the family and friends.

She was united in marriage with William S. Jones, June 5, 1892, at Greencastle, Iowa. To this union were born nine children, one infant son preceding her in death thirty-five years ago. Besides the husband, the following children survive her. Lexas C. of Norwalk, Ia., Juanita Wilson of Des Moines, Eleanor Zachary of Prairie City, Julia Hendee, Paul, James, Wren and Donald, all of Colfax, and thirteen grandchildren, who will sadly miss her.
She also leaves three brothers and two sisters, namely Novia H. and Wren R Hedrick of Collins, Mo., and Thos. G. Hedrick of San Bernardino, Calif., Mrs. Julia G. O’Dell of Pittsburg, Kan., and Mrs. I. J. Jontz of Colfax. Also many other relatives and a host of friends and neighbors.
On March 14, 1921, she united with the Christian church at Colfax. Although in later years not a very active member, she remained a steadfast Christian to the end.
