Amos Rose, son of Wm. and Lucinda Rose was born 1859, and was united in marriage to Jennie Crew to which union one child was born, Chas. Rose now of Des Moines, and at the time of his father’s death was unable to come by reason of sickness. When a young man, Mr. Rose spent several years around Vandalia and has lived latter part of his life in Idaho. On account of illness he has spent some time at the Polk County home where dropsy set in casing his death shortly under the age of four score years. He leaves two brothers, Robt. And James; 3 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at Vandalia by Earl Warren of Ivy.
