Emma Hendricks Will Be Buried Near Prairie City
Prairie City (Special) – Services for Mrs. Emma Hendricks, who died Monday at 85, will be Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Prairie City Christian church conducted by the Rev. Kenneth Dean. Burial will be in Griffith cemetery south of Prairie City.
Mrs. Hendricks was born near Monroe on Sept. 19, 1869. She died in Monroe in the home of Mrs. Francis Van Ness where she had lived for the past 2 ½ years.
She was the former Emma Lockwood and married Lark Taylor in 1892. He died in 1901. She married Charles Hendricks in 1910. He also preceded her in death.
She lived most her life in Jasper county but spent a period in South Dakota. In recent years she lived for quite a while in Prairie City.
Pallbearers for Mrs. Hendricks will be Russell Worth, Boyd Worth, Wayne Taylor, Keith Taylor, Gail Ingram, and William Graham.
