Mrs. Christian (Helene C.) Evertsen, 92, a resident of Colfax and Monroe communities for the past 14 years died Friday at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Raymond Bell, in Colfax.
The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nels Bjornsen, she was born at Stavanger, Norway, November 8, 1869.
She was married to Christian C. Evertsen in 1891 in Chicago.
Mrs. Evertsen is survived by three sons, Michael and Clarence of Marshalltown and Hillman of Des Moines; a daughter, Mrs. Carl Johnson of Vancouver, Wash., 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services were conducted Monday afternoon, August 20th at the Walters Funeral Home. Rev. Dale Nicholson, minister of the Methodist church conducted the services.
Bearers: Ivan Bell, Don Davis, Chris Evertsen, Rudy Evertsen, George Hildebrand, Dale Weber.
Interment was in the Riverside Cemetery at Marshalltown, Iowa.
