BANNING, Calif. -- Dr. William K. Van Note, 77, of Banning, Calif., formerly of Newton, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2005, after a short illness.

Services were held in Banning, Calif., on Jan. 13. Memorials in his name may be given to a charity of the donor's choice.

Dr. Van Note was the founder of the Newton Eye Clinic. He was a resident of Banning, Calif., for the past 15 years.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Mary Van Note of Minneapolis, Minn.; a granddaughter; and a brother, Richard Van Note of Los Angeles, Calif.
