WATERLOO — Eric Paul Twesme, 42, of Waterloo, formerly of Newton, died of a lung disease Wednesday, May 25, 2005, in Waterloo.

Funeral services will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Washington Prairie Lutheran Church, located at 1725 Washington Road in rural Decorah. Burial will be at Washington Prairie Lutheran Cemetery.

A visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
A local survivor includes his grandmother, Gerta Sersland of Newton.

WATERLOO — Eric Paul Twesme, 42, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, May 25, at home.

He was born March 25, 1963, in Omaha, Neb., son of Paul and Carmen Sersland Twesme. Eric attended school in Spencer, Iowa. He later continued his studies at the University of Northern Iowa, Hawkeye Community College and Hamilton Business College.

Eric shared a deep relationship with God. He also loved the outdoors. He often spoke of his dreams to travel and was an avid spokesperson for human rights against social injustices, especially the disabled. His passions included NASCAR racing, music and his love for classic vehicles (Cassidy). He also was a genius filmmaker/editor and, for a time, had his own company, Red Road Productions.

Survivors include his long-time companion and best friend, Toni Gleason; his loving grandmother, Gerda Sersland; his aunt, Sara Sersland; his father, Paul; brother, Jeffrey (Nancy); and niece, Ashley.

He was preceded in death by his mother; maternal grandfather; paternal grandparents; and his uncle, Tom Sersland.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Washington Prairie Lutheran Church in Decorah, Iowa, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be an hour before the service at the church.
