COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — James Donald Toy, 83, of Colorado Springs, Colo., died Monday, March 14, 2005, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 7 p.m. at Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton with the Rev. John Claussen of Pleasantville Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Visitation will be held Friday from 6:30 p.m. until the time of the service and following the service until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials will be accepted in his name to the Kellogg Christian Church.

The son of Fred and Eva Toy, he was born June 17, 1921, in Bloomington, Ill., He graduated from Colorado Springs High School. On Sept. 6, 1962, he married Bernedine Kitchen in Colorado Springs, Colo. He was a troubleshooter for the gas department for the City of Colorado Springs for 27 years. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and playing golf. He attended First Baptist Church in Colorado Springs and was a member of VFW Post No. 4051 in Colorado Springs.

Mr. Toy is survived by his wife; three daughters and a son-in-law, Darlene Ringler of Newton, Jerry and Ralph Winchell of Kellogg and Mary Ann Oates of Norwalk, Calif.; six grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Hayden Boyd Bloodworth, a daughter, Clarice Bloodworth, and a brother.
