Herbert H. Annis Of Colfax Dies
Colfax – Herbert Homer Annis, 65, life-long resident of Jasper county and the Colfax neighborhood, died at 12:50 o’clock yesterday afternoon in Newton.
Funeral services will be held at two o’clock Wednesday afternoon at the Bumgardner Funeral Home in Colfax. Rev. Walter D. Goughnour, pastor of the Colfax Christian church, will officiate at the services and burial will be in the Newton Union cemetery.
Mr. Annis is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Earl Ruggles of Colfax and Mrs. Blanche Albee of Newton; and two brothers, Frank Annis and Bruce Annis, both of Colfax.
Mr. Annis was born Jan. 18, 1885 in the vicinity of Colfax and was educated in Jasper county rural schools. He was a farmer in the Colfax vicinity until his retirement three years ago.
