Appeldoorn, Mary E.

KELLOGG- Mary E. Mortenson Appeldoorn, 95, of Kellogg, a lifelong resident of Kellogg, died of Congestive heart Failure Friday, June 2, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Wallace-Pence Funeral home in Newton.

The Rev. Robert Hinshaw pastor of Ashton Chapel, will conduct services. Burial will be at Our Silent City Cemetery in Kellogg.

Visitation with the family will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials to Our Silent City Cemetery in Kellogg with be excepted.

Survivors four daughters, Nellie (Mrs. Ed) Hauetsperger of Kellogg, Ethelyne (Mrs. Melvin) Verwers and LaVona (Mrs. Roy) Henning both of Newton, and Maxine (Mrs. Bill) Etter of Chariton; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, husband, Case, July 11,1965, a daughter, Doris Marie in infancy, a brother, Russell Mortenson and a grandson.

Mrs. Appeldoorn was a homemaker.

The daughter of Nels and Nellie Ponder Mortenson, she was born June 4th, 1893 in Kellogg.

She was married to Cornelius “Case” Appeldoorn Nov. 24th, 1915 in Kellogg.
