Donna D. Martin, 75, of 1800 S. Fourth Ave. E. died Monday, Feb. 14, 2005, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

Funeral services are planned for Saturday at 1 p.m. at Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton with the Rev. Alan Chandler of the Des Moines Free Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery in Baxter.

Friends may call after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials will be accepted in her name.

The daughter of Cecil and Maude (Sutton) Huffaker, she was born July 26, 1929, near Ira in Jasper County. She attended country schools and Baxter Community School. She worked for Boeing Aircraft Factory in California, in an upholstery factory and at Mason's Café and Park Centre, both in Newton. She enjoyed reading and was a member of Central Community Free Methodist Church in Des Moines. She was a lifelong resident of Jasper County and lived in Baxter and Newton.

Survivors include her brothers and sisters and their spouses, Harlan Huffaker, Gwen Spearing and Donnell Sr. and Shirley Huffaker, all of Baxter, Martha Bucklin of Livonia, Mo., and Carolyn Bishop and Larry Sr. and Tesha Huffaker; three girls she raised, Pam, Denise and Glenda; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers-in-law, Paul Spearing and Tom Bucklin; three nephews; one great-niece; and two great-nephews.
