Mildred Doane, former Newton resident, dies

Funeral services for Mrs. Burr (Mildred Susan) Doane, 78, of Effie, Minn., a former resident of Jasper County, were held Monday at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Robbinsdale, Minn.

She died in Minneapolis, Minn.

Survivors are her husband; a son, Wayne of Robbinsdale, Minn.; three daughters, Mrs. Alberta Doane, Mrs. Lois Frigaard and Mrs. Adra Roff of Minneapolis, Minn.; 17 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Wesley Shill of Nevada and Clarence Shill of Marshalltown; and a sister, Pearl Paul of Kellogg.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Eunice Faircloth of Melbourne and a brother, Harold Shill of Marshalltown.

The daughter of John and Dollie Shill, she was born March 23, 1903 on a farm north of Kellogg.
