COLFAX — William I. "Bill" Kimberley, 85, formerly of Colfax, died Monday, Feb. 28, 2005, at Taylor Hospice House in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Colfax United Methodist Church. Burial will take place in the Peoria Cemetery following a luncheon at the church.

Visitation will be held today from 4 to 8 p.m. at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax. The family will also be available at the church Thursday morning one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Taylor Hospice House, Iowa Health Home Care-InTrust or the Shriners Hospital.

The son of Charles H. and Daisy Pearl (Nowning) Kimberley, he was born Nov. 3, 1919, in Collins. He served in the U.S. Army in the Third Armor Division during World War II and also in the Korean War. On March 8, 1951, he married Evelyn Marie Lewis at the Methodist Church in Colfax. He received a bachelor of science degree from Iowa State University in 1953 and owned and operated Kimberley Quality Dairy in Colfax from 1948 to 1951. For 43 years, he was a farm loan manager and appraiser for Phoenix Mutual Life Insurance Company in Fort Dodge. He was a member of the Fort Dodge United Methodist Church for 48 years and then the Altoona United Methodist Church after he and his wife moved to Altoona. He was also a member of the Fort Dodge American Legion, Masonic Lodge, Shrine Club and Rotary all in Fort Dodge. He was an active Shriner with KAABBA of Davenport as well as the 40 and 8 Club.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter and son-in-law, Kelley and Roger Holliday of Cincinnati, Ohio; a son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Kristi Kimberley of Colleyville, Texas; four grandchildren; and a sister, Daisy Mary Bullard formerly of Maxwell.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, George A. and Charles B. Kimberley.
