LINEVILLE — Nancy Velora Hashman, 79, of Lineville, formerly of Newton, died Tuesday, March 8, 2005, at the Wayne County Hospital in Corydon.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Chapel in Lineville with the Rev. Wilburn Bennett officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Lineville.

Open visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. No family visitation is scheduled.

The daughter of Bryan Lucian and Bessie Florence (Nickell) Shockey, she was born May 7, 1925, in rural Lineville. She was raised in Lineville and was a 1943 graduate of Lineville High School. On Sept. 19, 1944, she married Willus "Gene" Hashman. She and her husband made their home in Newton for 30 years, where she worked for a short time for the Maytag Company. Following her husband's retirement from Maytag, they moved to Camdenton, Mo., where they lived for 10 years before moving to Lineville in September of 1986.

Mrs. Hashman was a member of Lineville Assembly of God Church and the Duncan-Smith American Legion Post No. 506. She enjoyed flowers.

Survivors include three sons and a daughter-in-law, Randal Hashman of Princeton, Mo., Dennis Hashman of Eldon, Mo., and Frank and Dana Hashman of Newton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Vickie and Dennis Stewart of Gilman and Brenda and Troy McCabe of Camdenton, Mo.; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Violet Rutledge of Independence, Mo., and Betty and Jerry Rockhold of Lineville; nine grandchildren; one step-granddaughters; eight great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, Billy Shockey and infants Ray Dean and Bobby Shockey; and one sister, Leona Shockey.
