COLFAX — Lillian G. Franz, 92, died Thursday, June 2, 2005, at Mitchell Village Care Center in Mitchellville.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax.

Visitation will be from 2 until 8 p.m. on Sunday at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax. Family will be present to greet friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Memorials may be given to the Colfax Senior Citizen's Center.

The daughter of Louis and Elizabeth (Harrison) Bettis, she was born July 13, 1912, near Hiteman. She attended country school in that area while growing up. On March 2, 1935, she married Oscar Franz in Des Moines. She worked more than 20 years at Winpower in Newton. She was a member of the Colfax Basket Club, the Birthday Club and was a frequent visitor to the Colfax Senior Citizen's Center.

She is survived by her two children, Robert (Aretta) Franz of Colfax and JoAnn Franz of Sebring, Fla.; one brother, Clifford Bettis of Waterloo; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Franz was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sisters, five brothers and two siblings in infancy.
