COLFAX -- Rozella L. Bale, 79, of Colfax died Friday, Jan. 9, at Taylor Hospice House in Des Moines.

At her request, there will be no services. Burial will be at Colfax Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Colfax Public Library or the First Presbyterian Church in Colfax. Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax is handling arrangements.

The daughter of Alva and Ellen (Stock) Moore, she was born Dec. 1, 1924, in Minneapolis, Minn. She was raised by her adoptive parents, Glenn and Frances Stock. She moved to Colfax in 1938 and graduated from Colfax High School in 1943. On March 19, 1944, she married John Bale in Colfax. She worked at the Monroe Company for more than 30 years and retired in 1980. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Colfax.

Survivors include a brother, Duane Moore of Phoenix, Arizona; a sister, Gladys Griggs of California; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, Galen, Riley and an infant; and three sisters, Doris Korras, Frances Sampson and Hazel Cozad.
