PELLA - Marie Veldhuizen, 103, of Pella died Sunday, Nov. 23, at Pella Regional Hospital, Long-term Care Unit in Pella.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the First Christian Reformed Church in Pella. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Pella.

Friends may call today at the Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Pella where the family will be available from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Memorials will be accepted to Pella Christian High School or to the First Christian Reformed Church in Pella.

The daughter of Leenderdt and Gertje (Ver Voorn) Van Zee, she was born Oct. 18, 1900, in Bethel Neighborhood, northwest of Pella. In 1920, her family moved south of Sully. On March 15, 1923, she married Jacob H. Veldhuizen. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, baking bread and buns, gardening and canning. After living south of Taintor for many years, she and her husband moved to Pella in 1953. She was an active member of the Peoria Christian Reformed Church and enjoyed the Larks Club. After moving to Pella, she became a member of the First Christian Reformed Church and was an active. member of the' Senior Helping Hands Group. Recently she resided at the Pella Regional Health Center - Long Term Care Unit.

Survivors include her children and spouses, Henry and Alma Veldhuizen of Sully, Henrietta Veldhuizen and Geraldine Mae Dykhuis, all of Pella, Gladys Vander Molen of Peoria; 12 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and two greatgreat-grandchildren; a sister, Cornelia De Vries of Pella; and sisters-in-law, Anna Van Zee of Minnesota and Dorothy Van lee of Pella.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Kryn, John, Andrew, and Cornie Van Zee; her husband; a son, Leonard Veldhuizen; two sons-in-law, Arnold G. Dykhuis and Marvin Vander Molen; an infant granddaughter, Jane Ann Veldhuizen; a grandson-in-law; and a great-grandson.
