Kenneth Ruple, 90, of 607 E. 7th St. N. died Friday, Dec. 19, at Heritage Manor in Newton.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton with Chaplain Merle Smith of Skiff Medical Center officiating. Burial will be at Newton Union Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home where family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials will be accepted to the Hospice of Jasper County and may be left at the funeral home.

The son of Frank Arthur and Ellen (Cartwright) Ruple, he was born Jan. 11, 1913, in Vilonia, Ark. He married Fannie L. Vance on Oct. 17, 1936, in Cardwell, Mo., and resided in Vilonia, Ark., until moving to Newton. Mr. Ruple worked at Maytag for 26 years, retiring in 1975, and had been a resident of Newton since 1949.

Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Kennie and Ann of Clarinda and Jimmy of Newton; two daughters, Rose James and Vickie Koeneman, both of Newton; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Hazel and Bud Bishop and R.C. and Ernest Bostic, all of Vilonia, Ark.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife in 1985, a granddaughter, two great-grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters.
