C OLFAX – Richard Edward Linn, 53 of Colfax, died Friday, Nov. 14, at his home.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax. There will also be a memorial service held at 1 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Estherville on Saturday.

Visitation will begin after 2 p.m. today at the funeral home where the family will be available from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials will be accepted to the Richard E. Linn Memorial Fund.

The son of Alfred and Dorothy (Johnson) Linn, he was born March 10, 1950, in Iowa City. He married Fredena Lester and was later divorced. He lived in Colfax for 35 years and was a contract painter in the area. He enjoyed wildlife, fishing and shooting pool.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Jo Ellen Linn of Newton; a daughter, Stephanie Linn of Kentucky; his father of Estherville; a brother and sister-ill-law, Ron and Charlene Linn of Colfax; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Carol and David Scott of Texas, Beverly and Ron Peters of Estherville, Nancy and Duan Raines of Estherville and Marcia and, Perry Mann of Grettenger; two sisters-in-law, Delores Linn of Colfax and Caroline Shook of Grinnell; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, two brothers, Gerald and David, and his grandparents.
