KELLOGG - L. W. "Tote" Lemonds, 88, of Kellogg died Friday, Nov. 7, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton with Chaplain Merle Smith of Skiff Medical Center in Newton officiating. Burial will be at Oakview Cemetery in Albia on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today. at the funeral home where the family will be available from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials will be accepted to Kellogg Fire and Ambulance or to Hospice of Jasper County and may be left at the funeral home.

The son of Henry W. and Mary Jane (Cooper) Lemonds, he was born April 7, 1915, in Buxton. He was a graduate of Bucknell High School in Bucknell in 1933. On March 24, 1940, he married Jane Overmyer in Unionville, Mo. He lived in Newton from 1939 until moving to Kellogg in 1973. He worked for the Maytag Company for more than 33 years and retired in 1973. He was a charter member of the Maytag Management Club and a member of the UAW Local 997 Retirees Union. What he enjoyed the most in his life was being with his family, especially his two granddaughters and the three great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Phillip Lemonds of Kellogg and Thomas and Jane Lemonds of Chesterfield, Mo.; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Goldie Larson of Moline, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters.
