DES MOINES - Desdemona Maffini Lemmert, 90, of Des Moines, formerly of Jasper County, died Sunday, Nov. 9, at Genesis Senior Living Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Des Moines. Burial will be at Glendale Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m, Tuesday at Westover Funeral Home in Des Moines.

She was born in Pouzolli, Italy. A war bride, on Nov. 25, 1945, she married Gordon Lemmert of Arthur, Neb., in Naples, Italy. They lived in North Platte, Neb., before moving to Newton in 1981. She moved to Prairie City in 1988.

Survivors include a son, Ernest Lemmert of Prairie City; a daughter, Louise Clatterbuck
Of Windsor Heights, and three grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her husband.
