LA CROSSE, Wis. – Llewellyn A. Lee, 85, of La Crosse, Wis., formerly of Newton, died Wednesday, Nov. 5, at the St. Joseph Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at the Sletten McKee Hanson Funeral Home in La Crosse, Wis. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials will be accepted to the First Evangelical Free Church.

The daughter of Adolph and Minnie (Bardill) Starch, she was born Feb. 24, 1918, in Fountain City, Wis. In her early years, she worked at the Gundersen Clinic, Viterbo College, J.C. Penney Co., was a driver for Vocational Rehabilitation for the blind and also cared for handicapped people in her home. She lived in Newton from 1978 to 1982 and assisted her son at the Country Kitchen restaurant.

Survivors include three sons, Kenneth H. Jandt of Davenport, Allen F. Jandt of Newton and Arlen J. Lee of Onalaska, Wis.; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Milward "Bill" Starch of La Crosse and Allen Starch of Clarendon Hills, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Frances Gilbertson, a grandson, an infant sister and an infant brother.
