COLFAX - Mildred "Midge" Bogard, 80 of Colfax died Tuesday, Nov. 25, at Care age of Newton.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax. Burial will be in the Colfax Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Friday after 2 p.m. at the funeral home where the family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials will be accepted to the Midge Bogard Memorial Fund.

The daughter of Howard S. and Myra M. (Bailey) Cross, she was born March 14, 1923, in Mitchellville. She graduated from Mitchellville High School in 1941. On March 28, 1942, she married Paul H. Bogard in Lancaster, Mo. She was a member of the Santiago United Methodist Church. She was an avid lover of country music and NASCAR racing and Dale Earnhardt. She enjoyed playing her organ, guitar and omni chord, riding snowmobiles and mini bikes and going to dances with her husband Paul. She and her husband started their married life in Ivy, then moved to Des Moines, Ventura, Wilton and then Colfax. She lived in Prairie City before moving to Careage of Newton.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Kenny Coe of Ventura and Dixie and Kevin Bailey of Prairie City; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Virginia Dyer of Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sisters, Leota Cooney and Norma Tilghman.
