David Dey Jansen
February 15, 1960 ~ January 23, 2021 (age 60)David Dey Jansen, 60, of Monroe died at Saturday, January 23, 2021, at Grinnell Healthcare of Grinnell. No services are scheduled at this time. Memorials in David’s name (checks made payable to Darrell Jansen) may be left at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory.
David, the son of Darrell and Sabra (Webb) Jansen, was born on February 15, 1960 in Newton. He grew up in Iowa attending school at Newton High School and West Des Moines Valley. David later received his AA in Psychology from Marshalltown Community College. As an adult he lived in Oklahoma and Colorado before returning to the central Iowa area. David worked for many years with autistic children and later as a truck driver. David had a life-long love of music that created many friendships through fan clubs and social media with people all over the world. His favorite musicians were Neil Young and John Prine. David loved all people and made connections with them quickly, many times through music.
David is survived by his son, Darrell (Maria) Jansen of Calhan, Colorado; grandson, Judah Dey Jansen; his dad, Darrell (Diana) Jansen of Westminster, Colorado; siblings, Lora (Steve) Van Ryswyk of Monroe, Traci (Trent) Doyle of Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Terry (Kristen) Jansen of Commerce City, Colorado, and Melissa (Brian) Breckenridge of Monroe; his girlfriend, Sharon Akins of Baxter; and his many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sabra Sonksen; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
