Mrs. Susan Marie Wright was born on a farm northwest of Newton January 31, 1882, the daughter of James W. and Henrietta M. Stern Trusler, and departed this life Friday, Dec. 26, 1952, at Monroe, Iowa, being at the time of her death 70 years, 10 months and 26 days old.
She was educated in the Jasper Co. school and the Normal college, which at that time was located in Newton. As a young woman she taught school in the Belle View district 10 miles south of Newton for five years.
While teaching school she met and married Mr. Wright. To this union two sons were born. Her entire life was spent in Jasper county except 8 or 9 years when they lived near Knoxville, Marion county.
She was a member of the Methodist church since early in life, and was always active in work as long as her health permitted. Besides the work of the church and its organizations, she was active in various civic enterprises. She and Mr. Wright were active members of the Oak Ridge Grange when they lived in that community.
Her survivors are the two sons, Milton and Dale, both of Des Moines, four grandsons, one sister, Mrs. John Miller of Newton, and one brother, Ray Trusler of Madison, Wis.
