Monroe News – A train-car crash occurred four miles northwest of Monroe Friday afternoon, Nov. 16, in which W. M. Pherren, 71, farmer lost his life. The accident took place at the crossing by the William Neff place. The crash three the car which then rolled about 50 feet.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Crumpacker Funeral Home. Rev. George Pennington, pastor of the Methodist church was in charge of the Services. Interment was in the Monroe cemetery.
