Rites Wednesday For Charles Deitrick
Funeral services were held Wednesday at the United Presbyterian church here for Charles B. Deitrick, who died at his farm home near here Monday morning. He was 77 years old.
The Rev. Ralph M. Donaldson officiated the service, with Crumpacker Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Special music was provided by Mrs. William Lewis who sang “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Beautiful Isle of Somewhere” with piano accompaniment by Mrs. Ben Van Wyk.
Obituary
Charles Bolcer Deitrick, son of Nicholas and Louisa Deitrick, was born near Osceola, Iowa, on March 8, 1877, and passed away on May 17, 1954. On June 26, 1906 he was united in marriage to Jennie Vander Ploeg of Otley. They moved to a farm near Monroe, and have lived in the same vicinity since.
He leaves to mourn his departure his wife and six children, Dorothy, Mrs. Worth Roush of Glendale, Calif.; Earl of Knoxville; Woodrow of Monroe; Howard of Newton; Levi, at home, and Ruth, Mrs. Harlan McCoy of Runnells. One daughter, Anna Garland, preceded him in death; also two brothers, Morris and George.
Other survivors are two sisters, Miss Molly Deitrick and Mrs. Ella Honnold, and 11 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
