Monroe – Short graveside services were held Saturday at the Monroe cemetery for Mrs. Vernon Six, 25. She leaves her husband, a little girl, 2 years old and a baby boy 15 days old, her father, Ray Hagan, a brother Howard at Monroe, and a sister, Helen Hagan in Knoxville.

Doris Margerette Hagan, daughter of Ray and Mabel Hagan, was born October 7, 1914, in Monroe, Iowa, and died at her home, Jan. 13, 1938 in Knoxville, after an illness of two weeks.
Her mother preceded her in death October 5, 1918, after which she made her home with her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Hagan, formerly of Knoxville.
She was married to Vern Six, Sept. 3, 1934. To this union were born two children, one daughter, Norma Jean, two years old, and baby boy, Vernis Dean, two weeks old, after whose birth she contracted scarlet fever and then complications, which illness she was too weak to overcome.
She was tenderly cared for by her husband’s mother and sister, Lois who was quarantined in the home with the little ones.
She leaves to mourn her departure her husband and two babies; her father, Ray Hagan; one brother, Howard Hagan, of Monroe; one sister, Helen Hagan, of Knoxville; her step-mother; two step-brothers, one step-sister; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A short funeral service was conducted by Rev. _. D. D__sty at the Monroe cemetery where she was laid to rest beside her mother at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 15, 1938.
