Mullins, William Harrison – 1861-1939

William Harrison Mullins, the son of William Harrison Mullins and Allsy West, died at the Mahaska hospital, Oskaloosa, Sunday, October 22nd at 1:30 p.m. Mr. Mullins would have been 78 years of age on the 7th of December of this year. He was born in 1861.
All of his active life was spent near Monroe where he farmed. After the death of his wife, Viretta Koder Mullins on December 6th of 1918, Mr. Mullins came to live with Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Van Zante of Pella, Mrs. Van Zante being his daughter. For almost a year he was in failing health and on the 1st of October he was taken seriously ill and did not rise from his bed thereafter.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. J. T. Van Zante of Pella; two sons, Carl Mullins of Monroe and Harrison Mullins of Glenwood, Iowa. One daughter, Pearl, died at the age of six years. One sister, Sarah, an invalid and past 80 years of age, survives in Monroe.
Funeral services were held at Co-operative Burial Association home at 1:30 o’clock Tuesday afternoon with the Reverend Paul Christensen of the Baptist church in charge. Burial was in a cemetery at Monroe.
